Namen

Origin: It is a trade name used for hardwood timber originating from Namibia (African origin). It is known as “Namen” in Turkey and some regions of Europe.

Properties:

  • Color: The color is generally dark reddish-brown tones.
  • Texture: It is hard, durable, and dense.

  • Although it is somewhat difficult to process, it has a very shiny and decorative appearance when polished.

  • It is highly resistant to insects and fungi.

Other Names: It is mostly produced from hardwoods belonging to the Pterocarpus genus (similar to Padouk, for example). It originates from the tropical regions of Africa.

Uses: Interior and exterior decoration, doors, windows, furniture, flooring, parquet, boat and ship building (thanks to its durability).

It is very strong and long-lasting. It is highly resistant to water and moisture. Aesthetically, it provides a stylish surface.
