Origin: Iroko: Tropical West Africa (Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast).
Features:
- Color: Iroko's natural golden brown/yellowish color becomes deeper and more uniform with thermal treatment. Dark brown or rich amber colors may develop.
- Texture: The natural texture is preserved, but surface hardness increases.
- Mechanical Properties: Excellent dimensional stability (not affected by moisture, does not crack or warp). Very high resistance to water, moisture, mold, and decay (Natural durability class 1). Heat treatment further enhances Iroko's already high natural durability. The process is completely natural and contains no chemicals.
Other Names: Thermo-Iroko, Thermo-African Teak, Heat-Treated Iroko.
