ÜNLÜ Protect Teak Oil

This special product is designed for the easy and quick maintenance of hard, oily woods such as teak, mahogany, sapelli, iroko, and rosewood that are heavily exposed to water and used in outdoor environments. It provides excellent protection against water, UV rays, and organisms such as mold, mildew, and woodworms. It is easily absorbed by the wood and does not prevent the wood from breathing. It preserves the natural texture of the wood and enhances its decorative properties.

Density (20°C, g/cm³): 0.87 - 0.91

Coverage: When applied to leave a dry film thickness of 20-25 µ in a single coat, 1 liter can cover an area of 18-20 m² (excluding losses).

Application Areas: It can be safely used in all outdoor areas in contact with water, especially swimming pool edges and stairs, ship decks, and garden furniture.

Application Methods: Before application, any dirt, old paint, or varnish residue on the surface must be cleaned. After cleaning the surface to be treated, it should be lightly sanded and dusted with a damp cloth. A flat brush and clean cloth are sufficient for application. Stir thoroughly before application. To achieve a homogeneous appearance, the application should be done with a brush in the direction of the wood grain and in equal amounts, ensuring that the wood is saturated with oil. Any excess oil remaining on the surface should be wiped off with a clean cloth after approximately 15-20 minutes. Care should be taken not to apply too thick a coat. Woods such as teak and iroko, which contain excessive amounts of natural oil, must be degreased before application. Therefore, the surface should be cleaned with a cellulose thinner before sanding. After cleaning, the thinner on the surface should be allowed to dry.

The product should be thoroughly mixed before and during use. Application should not be carried out in rainy, very hot weather, or when the temperature is below 4°C. Close the container lid tightly after application. If exposed to air, the product may dry out and form a layer on the surface inside the container.
